Selecting the Right Personalized Pen for Your Wedding
Everyone agrees that a wedding is one of the most important moments in one’s life. Couples want to make sure that they create lasting memories, not only for themselves, but also for the many friends and families members who are a part of that special event.
An extremely popular and low cost way to help preserve those memories is to commemorate your wedding with promotional products including personalized wedding pens.
Personalized pens usually are available in 3 different construction types – plastic, metal and wood. Pens made from wood are the most expensive. Although plastic pens are the lowest priced, it’s important to not confuse quality. There are a number of plastic personalized pens manufactured by well-known pen manufacturers that are high quality.
There are 2 techniques manufacturers use to get your name or message on pens - imprinting or laser engraving. Imprinting, also known as silk-screening entails transferring your name or message on to the pen by ink stenciled screen stretched over a frame. The other method called laser engraving removes a layer of the outer skin of the pen which then exposes the pen’s inner color. Usually, laser engraved artwork will last longer than imprinted.
When comparing pens, note the size of the imprint area. Depending on the complexity of your logo, you may need a pen that offers a larger imprint area. Also note that some pens offer different barrel colors, so you should be able to find a color of pen that contrasts nicely with your logo color.
It’s important to select a reputable company for ordering your wedding pens. A couple good indicators of quality companies are how long they’ve been in business and whether they’re members of industry associations such as Chamber of Commerce’s and the Better Business Bureau. You may even want to ask for references of past clients.
Be aware that you may incur additional fees, such as imprinting fees, fees for producing a proof and setup fees. And, if you’re in a hurry, some companies offer 24 hour turnaround at an additional cost.
